Hello, supporters! As Father’s Day approaches, we want to share a heartwarming story that highlights the impact your donations and time have on families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. This is a story about KJ, a devoted dad whose family has found hope and strength thanks to your generosity.

Hi, my name is KJ. The Ronald McDonald House has kept us close to our son, Kainan, especially during such uncertain times. We didn’t know how long our stay in the hospital would be, or if he would even make it. But being at the Ronald McDonald House gives us high hopes and a sense of comfort.
Our son, Kainan, was born prematurely at 28.5 weeks. He was impatient to join the world, and it’s been a tough journey. Initially, we were down and out, fearing the worst. But every day spent here lifted our spirits. The Ronald McDonald House has become a home for us because our son is here. Wherever our children are, that’s where home is for us.
We also have a 1-year-old daughter, Karlee. She keeps us on our toes and motivates me every day to be a better parent. It’s been a joy to see her enjoying the activities here. Karlee seems to be kind of an artist; she loved making a painting for her mom for Mother’s Day, and we did the face painting one day at a carnival that some volunteers put on.
One of her favorite things to do is visit the little water area right outside of Children’s. She loves running through the water and chasing birds, and it’s nice to see her play.
Kainan’s journey hasn’t been easy. He is working on feeding from a bottle. Each day brings progress, and seeing him move from the incubator to his own little crib was a big milestone. He’s now 4.9 pounds! We’re hopeful that we can go home soon.
Throughout this challenging time, the Ronald McDonald House has provided us with a sense of normalcy and hope. Katelyn, my partner, and I are deeply grateful for the support and love we’ve received here. It’s been a blessing to have a place that feels like home while we navigate this journey with our son.
Thank you to everyone who donates their time and resources to make this possible. Your generosity directly impacts families like ours, helping us stay close to our loved ones and giving us the strength to face each day. As Father’s Day approaches, we want you to know how much your support means to us and to all the families who find solace at the Ronald McDonald House.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
