Small Change, Big Impact
How McDonald’s and Round-Up for RMHC are Making a Difference
At Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama (RMHCA), we are incredibly grateful for our founding and forever mission partner, McDonald’s, and the ongoing support they provide. You, as a valued customer, are an essential part of the fundraisers that make a significant difference in the lives of families with sick or injured children.
Round-Up for RMHC 2024
Round-Up for RMHC and the Donation Box Program:
It’s amazing how your spare change can have a profound impact on families when they need it most. In 2023 alone, the Round-Up for RMHC program raised an incredible $1.3 million in Alabama. This amount is equivalent to providing 10,000 nights of comfort and care at the Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Room at UAB Women & Infants Center. The Donation Box program raises tens of thousands more, further enhancing our ability to assist families.
Round-Up for RMHC and How it Works
When you visit a McDonald’s restaurant, ask to round up your purchase to the nearest dollar at the time of checkout. If your order comes to $4.50 and you Round-Up for RMHC, you pay $5. The additional 50 cents is then donated to RMHC, directly benefiting families facing medical crises across Alabama.
Making an Impact
By participating in Round-Up at McDonald’s, you play a vital role in making a meaningful impact on the lives of families in Alabama.
Your small change, when combined with the contributions of others, creates a collective force for good, providing critical resources and a supportive community for families in need.
Benefits for RMHC of Alabama
Every contribution made through the Round-Up for RMHC program at 178 McDonald’s located in Alabama goes directly to support RMHC of Alabama. Your generosity ensures that we can continue to provide a comforting and supportive environment for families with sick or injured children.
The funds raised help sustain the operational costs of our Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham and the Ronald McDonald Family Room at UAB Women & Infants Center, offering families a place of respite during challenging times.
McDonald’s Crew
McDonald’s crews are truly remarkable in their dedication to the Round-Up for RMHC fundraising. Each month, these teams set goals to raise crucial funds for our cause. We are honored and grateful to recognize the stores that consistently meet their goals and contribute to keeping guest families together when their child is sick or injured.
Such outstanding collaboration between crew and customers continues to make a lasting impact on the lives of families in Alabama. Thank you all for your unwavering support.

Happy Meals and French Fries
Local McDonald’s Owner/Operators are committed to supporting our mission through the Penny per Happy Meal and Penny Per Pound of Fries fundraiser.
These seemingly small contributions add up quickly, so thank you for choosing a Happy Meal or French Fries the next time you visit McDonald’s.
