Community Outreach Coordinator
Overview: Responsible for growing the RMHCA brand and strengthening its relationship with donor prospects and the general public by building awareness and engagement. Manages, recruits, trains and stewards signature event volunteers. Serves as the primary point of contact for all community events, ensuring brand compliance and donor stewardship.
Reports to: Associate Director of Events and Community Engagement
Status: Full time; Exempt
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitates and stewards community event prospects, working with the team to ensure successful activation and ensuring brand compliance for RMHCA.
- Identifies, recruits, trains and manages volunteers for a variety of positions to establish and sustain strong, profitable RMHCA signature events (Red Shoe Run, Golf Tournament, Heart of the House Gala.) as well as other engagement opportunities.
- Coordinates the RMHCA Pop Tab Pandemonium campaign, including school recruitment and stewardship, volunteer recruitment and event logistics.
- Implements tactics that promote community engagement and represents RMHCA at community events, internship fairs, speaking engagements, etc.
- Identifies, cultivates, and stewards Community Partners at various levels including workplace giving, event sponsorships 3rd party events and in-kind donations.
- Assists with all internal and external PR efforts including but not limited to Day of Change, Round Up for RMHC, United Way events, etc.
- Attends community events as necessary to ensure brand compliance, event success and mission awareness (will require periodic evening and weekend work).
- Provides logistic and administrative support for Signature Events, including data entry and reporting using RunSignUp and OneCause.
- Provide support to the development team on fund development opportunities including events and general donor acquisition.
- Supports the Director of Marketing in stewarding McDonald’s Round-Up for RMHC partners.
Other Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties incidental to the work outlined in this position description as requested by the Associate Director of Events and Community Engagement.
- Contribute to RMHCA team efforts by maintaining positive, supportive, and flexible working relationships with fellow staff and volunteers in our mutual pursuit of providing comfort and care to families of seriously ill or injured children being served by our facility.

Qualifications, skills and abilities required: Creative, energetic, highly organized and detail-oriented individual with Bachelor’s degree. Related experience preferred, marketing & sales acumen.
- Will require work on several nights and weekends throughout the year.
- Extraverted, enthusiastic individual with a strong sales acumen.
- Previous experience working effectively with volunteers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to people of diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Publisher, Word, Powerpoint and other related software.
- Canva and CRM Database experience preferred.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple and diverse tasks.
- Dependable, excellent judgment and demonstrated ability to operate in flexible, team-oriented environment.
