Jameson and Nancy made a lifelong commitment to each other in late August, but before tying the knot, they made another commitment. They made a commitment to support the expansion of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama through our Healing Together Campaign.Â
In the South, we have many traditions related to a wedding. Typically there is a wedding shower or two, a bridal tea, and other parties during the engagement. One of the last celebrations before Jameson and Nancy’s wedding day was a shower held by their friends and family.

Following tradition, they considered a host/hostess gift for those throwing the shower. However, the couple decided to take a different route. Instead of purchasing a gift for each host and hostess, they gave a donation in their honor.
We asked Jameson why they chose the charity, “We chose RMHCA for a couple of reasons. First, I heard an ad on WBHM about the capital campaign to expand RMHCA and reduce the waiting list. I had no idea just how many families depended on RMHCA on a nightly basis, and knew I wanted to help.”
He went on to say, “secondly, each of the honorees supported and loved us when we were children, so helping the families of children in the hospital seemed like a great way to acknowledge that support and love.”
When getting married, there are numerous of decisions to be made, but Jameson told us, “making a donation to RMHCA in lieu of physical gifts for our hosts is one of the easiest decisions we’ve made in planning our wedding.”
We are so thankful for their support and loved the meaning behind their gift. We wish Jameson and Nancy all the happiness in the world.
