Monday, October 15 was definitely a Day of Change for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama (RMHCA)!
Our staff spread out across the state to 10 different McDonald’s locations to thank those communities for their support and to continue spreading awareness of our mission. In Centre, Andalusia and Fort Payne, we were even joined by some of our guest families! The Clements (Centre), Macks (Andalusia) and Mizzells (Fort Payne) have all stayed at the Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham several times. We are so grateful that they spent part of their day with us!
So far, more than $4,100 was raised from our Day of Change campaign which will really help us support families through the end of the year. To put that in perspective, it costs our charity $1,134 to provide a place for a family during an average two-week stay. So $4,100 will cover 3 families!
It’s even more exciting because that total is expected to rise! We’re continuing to get more Day of Change donations from the community and we’ll be examining our reports for increases in the RMHC donation boxes at your local McDonald’s.
RMHCA is so grateful to everyone who supports our mission. No one expects to need the Ronald McDonald House but it’s a wonderful thing to be able to provide families a free place to stay and a support system when they’ve traveled far from home for their child’s medical care.
