Plan ahead to treat yourself and your kiddos to McDonald’s May 20-24!
Participating McDonald’s in north Alabama/Tennessee Valley area will donate 10% of all Happy Meal sales to RMHC during that time.
Last year, the Greater Tennessee Valley Operators Association donated $16,487.13 from Shamrock Shake sales and the Happy Meals for the House week! We are so grateful to the McDonald’s customers, crew and owner/operators for supporting our mission. You are a key part in helping families with sick or injured children stay together during medical treatment.
A rich history
Did you know? McDonald’s is RMHC’s Founding and Forever Mission Partner of 50 years!
That’s when McDonald’s operators in Philadelphia pledged to donate 25 cents of each Shamrock Shake sale to build a new resource in family-centered care: the Ronald McDonald House. The first House opened in Philly in 1974, which ultimately inspired communities in Atlanta, Chicago and San Diego to open their own Ronald McDonald House.
RMHCA opened our first Ronald McDonald House 45 years ago in 1979. Since “day one” local McDonald’s operators have been behind us!
Today, they donate a penny per pound of French Fries and a penny per Happy Meal; make it possible for customers to Round-Up for RMHC or drop change in an RMHC Donation box; serve on our Board of Directors and volunteer committees; provide dinners to guest families; and they are some of our best cheerleaders!
Part of the McDonald’s Partnership
As a customer, you play a huge role in all of the fundraisers we listed above. As RMHCA, we are grateful when you choose to treat yourself to McDonald’s because it also means you are helping support our mission! Thank you for any time you have Rounded-Up for RMHC, purchased a Happy Meal, or enjoyed the world-famous fries!
