RMHC Global Recognizes 17 Chapters from Around the World for Exceptional Work in Strengthening Support for Children and their Families
Ronald McDonald House Charities awarded Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama with the Hearts & Hands Award and a $10,000 grant in recognition of initiatives that help support and enable family-centered care provided through its L.I.F.E (Learning-Integrate-Function-Engage) program. Our Chapter was honored at RMHC’s Hearts & Hands Awards Gala as a part of the 2015 International Conference held in Chicago.
The mission of the L.I.F.E program is for healthcare professionals to educate and support the parents and/or caregivers staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham, Alabama. Each month expert speakers provide important information ranging from child development, grief process, to accessing community and state resources. This program is just one small thing that RMHC Alabama can provide families going through a medical crisis and to help them live life to the fullest.
“Local RMHC Chapters are investing in groundbreaking initiatives that best support the needs of children and families in their local communities,” said J.C. Gonzalez-Mendez, president and CEO of RMHC. “We could not be prouder of the work to expand reach of services, strengthen the resources provided to families or mobilize support for local organizations, and believe it underscores the vital role that RMHC plays in enabling access to family-centered care programs that help keep families close.”
