Internship Purpose:
The Marketing, PR, and Communications Intern will play a key role in RMHCA’s upcoming brand modernization and rebranding efforts. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing and communications, with opportunities to contribute to campaigns that support families staying at our 73-room House and promote RMHCA across Alabama.
You’ll collaborate with the Marketing and Development team on projects that strengthen RMHCA’s visibility, engagement, and impact. From graphic design to social media storytelling, you’ll help bring our mission to life and ensure families receive the support they need when it matters most.
All internships are unpaid positions and are required to be performed in-person at Ronald McDonald House Charities in Birmingham, Alabama.

Responsibilities
- Assist with brand modernization and rebrand rollout (October 2025).
- Create engaging content for social media, email campaigns, and the RMHCA website.
- Support public relations efforts, including press releases and media outreach.
- Design graphics and marketing materials using Canva.
- Help coordinate fundraising and awareness campaigns, ensuring messaging aligns with RMHC’s mission and brand standards.
- Analyze marketing data (social, email, website) to measure engagement and impact.
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to highlight family stories, donor recognition, and community partnerships.
- Support signature and community events
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Graphic Design, or related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with Canva (required); knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Creative thinker with an eye for detail and brand consistency.
- Passion for nonprofit work and commitment to RMHCA’s mission.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
