Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama (RMHCA) is excited to announce the Grand Reopening of 13 newly renovated rooms. This completes a two-year process during which all 41 rooms in the House were completely updated.
RMHCA will be hosting a celebration of this renovation on Thursday, May 19 with a ribbon cutting ceremony starting at 4 p.m. Attending the celebration will be representatives from our 2016 Adopt-a-Room donors — Jeannie Walston, Charlie and Bebe Bugg, Betsy and Jimmy Holloway from the Estelle Campbell Charitable Fund, Leigh Collier, Christopher Gargala and Shekena Baldwin from Wells Fargo, Charles Terry Senior and Charles Terry Junior from Hill Crest Foundation, Lucy Marsh, Annie Thompson and Jacquie Meyer from The Thompson Foundation, Lyndra Daniel, Jim Hughey and Marie Kennedy from The Daniel Foundation, Craig and Deidre Smith from the Tanner Colby Smith Foundation, Marcie Braswell from the Robert Meyer Foundation, and Jay Brandrup, Tiffany Dunlap, Jenny Rankin, Rose Kausler and Charlie Bice from Kinetic Communications. Also honored during the celebration will be the Harry & Jane Brock Foundation.
RMHCA started the room renovation process in 2014 providing much needed improvements to the guest rooms including new flooring, bathroom updates and other enhancements. Past Adopt-a-Room donors include Protective Life Foundation, Regions, BBVA, The Caring Foundation of BC/BS, Susan Mott Webb Charitable Trust, the Junior League of Greater Birmingham, McWane, Inc., Timken Foundation, and the Central Alabama McDonald’s Co-op. The House in Birmingham is able to provide a home away from home for up to 41 families at one time and thanks to these great sponsors all 41 rooms have been renovated over the past two years.
“We are overjoyed to have completed the newly renovated rooms at our Ronald McDonald House, which enables us to better serve the families who need our services,” Katherine Estes Billmeier, CEO of RMHCA, said. “We couldn’t have completed this amazing renovation without the immense outpouring of support from the community. Many businesses, groups and individuals are responsible for making this project possible, and we cannot say thank you enough to them. We are truly grateful!”
