With over 25 schools participating in the 2015-2016 Pop Tab Pandemonium contest, over 3,018 pounds of pop tabs were turned into RMHCA. Wow! We are blown away by the level of participation achieved by this program.
It costs the Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham $95/night per family and with 41 families a night, the cost to keep our doors open can add up quickly. With the number of pop tabs received just from the Pop Tab Pandemonium contest, we raised over $2,100!
We are so thankful to each school that participated as each and every pop tab helps fund our operation. In order to provide the opportunity for schools of different sizes to compete with one another fairly, the total weight delivered by each school is divided by the number of students enrolled in that school. This year we are happy to announce the winners of the 2015-2016 contest …
The overall winner was Holy Cross Episcopal School who won with 395 pounds of pop tabs! That equaled over 5 pounds per student!
We also want to recognize the winners in each school category:
- Top Elementary School: Eastwood Elementary School
- Top Middle School: Curry Middle School
- Top High School: Decatur High School
- Top Private School: Holy Cross Episcopal School
If your school is interested in participating next year, be on the lookout for more information – sign up for the 2016-2017 contest will open in the fall.
