Join us in congratulating the RMHCA Junior Board for raising more than $27,500 at the annual Sweet Home Brews, presented by Brasfield & Gorrie, to help keep families and their sick children together!
“Sweet Home Brews is a special event that brings the Birmingham community together in so many ways,” Eliza Bicksler, Junior Board Vice President says. “Breweries, restaurants, companies, and so many vendors donate their time, goods and services to gather people together to support the mission of the Ronald McDonald House.”
On behalf of the Junior Board, we want to thank Presenting Sponsor Brasfield & Gorrie, as well as each of the generous Keg, Growler and Specialty Sponsors.
Thank you to all the participating breweries, the generous donations of food from our restaurant partners, everyone who donated a raffle item, The Hams, and everyone who attended!
Without your support, our amazing Junior Board wouldn’t have been able to raise these funds, which will cover 220 nights of comfort and care at our Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Room at UAB.
“While eating great local bites and tasting beer from 8 local breweries, guests were able to enjoy live music, raffles, silent auction, and vote for their favorite brew! Having the event at Avenue D this year allowed for guests to mingle both inside and outside! It was a beautiful night that helped provide 200+ nights to families in need,” Eliza says.
One of Sweet Home Brews’ most fun features is the Voter’s Choice for best brewery. Congratulations to the 2024 Voter’s Choice winner, Birmingham District Brewing! They’ll enjoy showing off the Sweet Home Brews trophy until next year’s event.
RMHC of Alabama is grateful to all of our Junior Board members, especially the Sweet Home Brews committee, for donating their time and talent to this event. And a special thank you to Junior Board Member Kimberly Merritt of Kamdid Kamera for volunteering her talents.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama’s (RMHCA) Junior Board is a group of elite young professionals dedicated to bettering their Birmingham community and furthering the RMHCA mission through volunteering and fundraising. Junior Board members have the unique opportunity to build relationships with other young professionals as well as the RMHCA Board of Directors, supporters, and guest families.
If you feel the same passion for RMHCA, apply to be considered for the Junior Board! Applications close November 1, 2025 for the 2025-2027 term.
