Volunteering is a powerful way to make a positive impact on the lives of others and bring joy and hope to those in need.
Grace’s journey with RMHCA began when she started working at Children’s of Alabama in clinical research. Witnessing the multitude of people and organizations that play a role in enhancing the patient experience, Grace felt inspired to extend her support beyond the hospital walls.
She chose the Ronald McDonald House as her platform for making a difference, as it provided her with a unique opportunity to positively impact families in a more personal and meaningful way.
“To know Grace is to know kindness. She’s an amazingly sweet and selfless soul who always serves dinner with a side of smiles. We’re incredibly lucky to have her on the volunteer team,” says Zelma Mae Cable, House Program & Activities Manager.
Grace is often found volunteering at dinner, which involves assisting Chef Rocky, serving, and cleaning up. Through this program, she has had the privilege of interacting with the families staying at the house and witnessing firsthand the profound impact of community support and helping others in even the smallest ways.
“I keep volunteering because of the connections I have made,” Grace says. “Beyond meeting guest families, getting to know other volunteers and staff has been wonderful. I look forward to hearing about everyone’s week and seeing photos of people’s families or pets.”
If Grace’s story has inspired you to volunteer or make a donation to our mission, we encourage you to take that step today. Your kindness, support, and willingness to give back can make a world of difference to those in need.
