We understand that you have a lot of decisions to make in this time. We are here to help take care of the “everyday” worries so you can focus on what’s most important: your child.
As guests of the Ronald McDonald House, families are accommodated in a private guest room designed for rest and rejuvenation after spending time at the hospital. The House provides amenities including home-cooked meals, engaging activities, and spaces for both indoor and outdoor play. Our Ronald McDonald House is also furnished with laundry facilities, Wi-Fi and nursing nooks for mom.

Our Locations
The Ronald McDonald House® is located at 1700 4th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35233. Guests may use the driveway located on 17th Street South between 3rd and 4th Avenue South to load and unload vehicles.
The Ronald McDonald Family Room® is available to primary parents/caregivers of NICU patients at UAB Women & Infants Center.
Family Eligibility
The following criteria must be met for a family to be eligible to stay at the Ronald McDonald House®:
- The family’s child (patient) must be 19 years of age or younger.
- The child must either be an inpatient or an outpatient receiving continuous treatment.
- A referral form submitted by the medical provider primarily responsible for the child’s care must be sent to the Ronald McDonald House®. This request should be made as far in advance as possible. Please contact the Social Services office at your medical provider for referral information.
- Families must live outside of Jefferson County, Ala.
- All adult guests must provide photo identification and agree to a background check.
- Once a referral is submitted, please complete the background check form.
